Abstract
The electrical properties of 4,4′-bis(4-Dimethyl Amino Styryl) benzene (DMASB) were investigated by studying the current-voltage temperature characteristics of metal-DMASB-metal structures. Rectifying behavior of the devices occurred at an applied field higher than 107 Vm−1 which depends on the nature of the electrode metal. At high temperature, a thermally activated process was observed and was related to the Poole-Frenkel effect while at low temperature a hopping conduction between localized states likely occurs.
