Planar heterostructures oxide/conducting polymer (CuO/polypyrrole and CeO2/polypyrrole)

CuO/polypyrrole (CuO/PPy) and CeCVpolypyrrole (CeO2/PPy) heterostructures were obtained using the oxide films as redox initiators of pyrrole in-situ polymerization. The continuous CuO and network CeO2 films were obtained by thermal decomposition of 2-ethyl-hexanoate precursors, by the Metallorganic Decomposition (MOD) technique. The polypyrrole layer profile depends upon the morphological features of the oxide film.
