Abstract
We present photophysical properties, like spectral line-shape and site selectivity of photoluminescence (PL), PL quantum yields and Optically Detected Magnetic Resonance (ODMR) responses of bulk poly(para-phenylenevinylene) films and isolated PPV chains incorporated into a self-assembled matrix ordered at a nanometer scale. The ordering is a result of the lyotropic liquid-crystalline character of the matrix material, which leads to the formation of a regular hexagonal array of channels with a diameter of about 15 ه, in which the conjugated polymer chains are contained. The structure of the nanocomposite is confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis.
