Polypyrrole films grafted by calix[4]arenes

We have synthesized two calix[4]arenes modified at their upper rims by N-substituted pyrrole moieties. This paper reports the first electrochemical homopolymerization of such calix[4]arenes.The films growth is fairly good and the obtained polymers are stable to electrochemical cycling. But, electrochemistry does not allow the detection of complexation of akalines cations by these calix[4]arenes immobilized at an electrode.
