Abstract :
A polyrotaxane containing a conjugated backbone has been synthesized via a copper(I) template and electropolymerisation. The reversibility of Cu(I) binding is perfect only when lithium is present during copper removal, acting as labile scaffolding. The ability of our structure for other transition metal ion sensing has also been tested. Potential shifts seem to indicate interactions between redox active copper centers and the conjugated backbone are under study.
