Liquid polysulfide rubber as a new dopant of polypyrrole

Free-standing polypyrrole/polysulfide conducting composite films were electrochemically synthesized in the acetonitrile/acetone compound solvent with the liquid polysulfide rubber as supporting electrolyte. The obtained composite films were compact and flexible. FT-IR spectroscopic characterization of polymers suggested that polysulfide counterions have been incorporated into the PPy film during the electrochemical polymerization. Electrochemical voltammetric studies showed that the synthesized composite films have good electroactivity and electrochemical reversibility.
