Abstract :
The electrochemical behavior of (C70)2-p-tert-butylcalix[6]arene inclusion complex films on a glassy carbon (GC) electrode was studied by cyclic voltammetry. Three reduction peaks and two reoxidation peaks were detected in acetonitrile (MeCN), while two pairs of reduction/reoxidation peaks were obtained in a mixed solution of MeCN and water (1:1, v/v) containing tetra-butylammonium perchlorate as the supporting electrolyte. Compared to the reduction of a pure C70 film, the first cathodic peak potential of complex film had a positive shift both in MeCN as well as in a mixed solution of MeCN and water (1:1, v/v).
