Abstract :
The formation of the conducting polyaniline/poly(ethylene terephthalate) composite by the chemical redox polymerization of An in the matrix has been investigated. The process runs in the chlorine (bromine) containing water medium under the action of the products of the halogen hydrolysis. The possibility and peculiarities of the process strongly depend on a matrix nature. In particular, it could not be realised in polypyromellitimide and poly(vinylidenefluoride) matrixes but run in poly(ethylene terephthalate), bisphenol-A polycarbonate and polyvinylchloride ones. It is supposed that high specificity of this process in terms of a choice of the matrix and oxidant is a consequence of formation of the transition state including An molecule, the elementary unit of poly(ethylene terephthalate) and HOCl molecule, antecedent to the starting reaction (the An oxidation).
