Abstract
Phthalocyaninato ruthenium(II) has been complexed bisaxially with substituted and unsubstituted p-diisocyanobenzenes (dib) to form oligomers that are characterized spectroscopically. Their electrical conductivities lie in the low semiconducting range and the substituents on the bridging ligands have been found to considerably lower the electrical conductivity. A general synthesis for peripherally substituted phthalocyanines has been developed. The bisaxially coordinated substituted phthalocyaninato ruthenium(II) compounds prepared have been found to be soluble in common organic solvents enabling easy characterization of the materials.
