Abstract :
Novel starburst molecules, 3,6-di(N-diphenylamino)-9-phenylcarbazole and its methyl-substituted derivative, have been synthesised and found to constitute novel hole-transporting amorphous molecular materials with glass transition temperatures above 105 °C as characterised by differential scanning calorimetry. Room temperature hole drift mobility in the amorphous film of 3,6-di(4-methyldiphenylamino)-9-phenylcarbazole established by the time of flight technique approaches 10−3 cm2/V s at an applied electric field of 3.6×105 V/cm.
