Abstract :
We have developed the experimental technique to measure the magnetoresistance of low-dimensional conductors under ultra-high magnetic fields beyond 100 T. In order to eliminate the huge discharge noise and induction, we have built an experiment system using radio frequency phase sensitive detection. We applied this system to the magnetotransport measurement of an organic conductor α-(BEDT-TTF)2KHg(SCN)4, and observed the Shubnikov–de Haas oscillations corresponding to the magnetic breakdown orbit. This result strongly suggests that the magnetic breakdown field is smaller than 80 T.
