Abstract
We report the effects of uniaxial strain on the single crystals of the organic superconductor κ-(BEDT-TTF)2Cu(NCS)2. The strain was applied to the crystal along the direction parallel to the in-plane c-axis by the epoxy-crystal method. Under the external pressure of 1 kbar, the superconducting transition temperature (TC) increased by about 1 K and simultaneously the resistance peak around 90 K was enhanced, suggesting the significant role of the electron correlation. With further increasing the pressure, both the TC and the peak structure were suppressed.
