Abstract :
The model systems HERBSIM and SIMULAT were applied to predict the dynamics of three different pesticides (Simazine, Metamitron and Methabenzthiazuron) on a loam site in the Krummbach catchment, north Germany. The parameters of the degradation model were obtained from laboratory experiments using statistical parameter estimation techniques. The information gained from this investigation were used to simulate the herbicide persistence under field conditions. Although not all parameters needed were available from laboratory studies, SIMULAT was able to reproduce the field measurements of pesticide concentration without further calibration.
