Metallic glasses

Multicomponent metallic glasses are being made in ever greater dimensions, and subjected to a wider range of shaping processes. Compositions are under active development to improve soft-magnetic, hard-magnetic and mechanical properties. Significant advances have also been made in exploiting metallic glasses as precursors in making ultra-fine grained materials with useful properties.
