Abstract :
Novel extended tetrathiafulvalene molecules, transition metal complexes with elongated π ligands, neutral radicals and Te-containing π donors have been synthesized, which will contribute to the future progress of solid state chemistry of molecular conductors. The first organic superconductor with an organic anion, β″ - ET2SF5CH2CF2SO3 has been discovered. Cation radical salts based on bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene and analogous donors are still fertile ground to produce new organic superconductors. Increasing interest has focused on molecular conductors incorporating magnetic anions, where unique coupled electric and magnetic transitions have been observed.
