Abstract :
The field of bioactive ceramic implant materials is surveyed, for the period 1997–1998. Literature on the use of calcium phosphate materials for dental and orthopedic applications is discussed. The use of bioactive bone cements and the recent introduction of bioactive glasses into clinical use are discussed.
