Abstract :
This study characterized the properties of a transparent oxygen barrier film in which graphene oxide (GO) was used as the barrier material. GO was produced by oxidizing graphite via chemical methods. Alternating self-assembled solution-deposited GO layers and poly(ethylenimine) (PEI) layers were then deposited on a polyethylene-terephthalate (PET) film surface. The deposited film displayed excellent oxygen barrier properties, decreasing the oxygen transmittance rate (OTR) to 0.05 cc/m2 day, and its light transmittance was 85.6%. Increasing the number of deposition barrier layers on the PET film decreased the OTR and light transmittance, and the electric conductivity increased. The deposited film was post-treated to obtain modified film characteristics.
