The luminescence of filled s-shell ions in hexavalent tellurium compounds

The possibilities of and the restrictions on the luminescence of materials based on tellurates activated with divalent lead and trivalent bismuth are reported and discussed. Photoionization influences the spectral characteristics of luminescent materials and may be detrimental to the thermal quenching temperature.
