Abstract :
A new layered cuprate (Sm1.1Ce0.9)Ba2Sm2Cu2Ti2GaO16 has been prepared and studied by X-ray powder diffraction. It assumes a bodycentered crystal structure with space group 14/mmm and lattice parameters a=3.8864(2)A˚, c=44.761(2)A˚. Atom stacking sequence along c-axis is [(Sm,Ce)2O2](CuO2)(BaO)(TiO2)(SmO)(GaO2)(SmO) (TiO2)(BaO)(CuO2)[(Sm,Ce)2O2], where [(Sm,Ce)2O2] is the fluorite-type layer.
