Preparation of uniform α-Fe2O3 particles by microwave-induced hydrolysis of ferric salts

We report here for the first time the preparation of submicron uniform α-Fe2O3 by microwave-induced hydrolysis of ferric salts with concurrent dissociation of urea. The optimal parameters for this simple preparation of particles with different shapes were determined.
