Production of thermodynamically stable quasicrystalline tubes by the suction extraction method

A new technique for the preparation of tubes and solid rods of stable quasicrystalline alloys in the Al-Cu-Fe system is described. The resulting samples are suitable for experimental measurements that require long solid sections of material, including electrical transport, skin depth and mechanical testing.
