Abstract :
Whisker crystals of zinc silicate (Zn2SiO4) were grown on a ZnO ceramic disc by heating a ZnO ceramic disc with a silica glass plate and Bi2O3 powder in an alumina crucible at 1200 °C in air. Bi2O3 powder is considered to be a key substance in growing whisker crystals of Zn2SiO4.
