Abstract :
Ultrasound (20 kHz) and monomode (300 W, 2.45 GHz) microwave treatments were used to obtain almost pure fullerene C60 from extract mixtures. These unusual treatments appear very efficient with these materials. The crystallographic structures were systematically determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns before and after treatments. This allowed detection of structures known (such as C60–n-heptane) and unknown.
