Abstract :
YAlO3:Tbx3+ has been synthesized through combustion process, and the emission optical properties on the YAlO3:Tbx3+ have been investigated by cathodoluminescence (CL) measurements. Dependence of the tuning emission colors on the Tb3+ doping concentrations for the YAlO3 materials has been investigated by the CL spectra, and variation of the color with the Tb3+ concentration in the YAlO3:Tbx3+ has been described. The origin of the emission color tuning is presented on the basis of the cross-relaxation processes of heavily doped Tb3+ in the YAlO3 host materials. These results indicate that YAlO3 can be used as a promising phosphor, which is able to tune from blue to green by changing the Tb3+ concentration in the YAlO3 host material.
