Abstract :
The highly conjugated dimer of Cu(II) octaethyl porphyrin attached by a linear butadiyne bridge on a meso position has been used for the registration and study of the Langmuir isotherms and of the Langmuir–Blodgett deposition of thin films in mixture with cadmium arachidate. A comparison among the structures exhibited by the floating films at the air–water interface and by the multilayers, when different spreading solvents were utilised, has been proposed in the light of data obtained by Langmuir isotherms, UV–Vis spectroscopy, and SEM analysis.
