Abstract
The preparation of Langmuir Blodgett structures with different poly(3-alkylthiophenes) has been investigated with the aim of obtaining a well-defined supramolecuar architecture suitable for application in the field of electronic organic devices. The kind of chemical synthesis, the structure of the polymer, and the nature of the side chain substituents are very important factors in determining the possibility of obtaining stable and transferable monolayers. Some of the tested structures have been shown to give good LB films with high orientation of the chain in the dipping direction. The LB films formed have been used as active layers in light emitting diode (LED) preparations.
