Abstract :
Monolayer and Langmuir-Blodgett film forming properties of three amphiphilic cyanovinyl ferrocene derivatives containing different hydrophobic groups are reported. These materials showed a dependence of monolayer organisation (change in the surface pressure vs. molecular area isotherm) on the time that the floating film was allowed to remain in its uncompressed state. The molecular area changes were accompanied by changes in the cyclic voltammetric response for Langmuir-Blodgett monolayers transferred onto indium-tin-oxide electrodes.
