Abstract :
The multilayer assembly of the organic pigment — 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic acid (PTCA) — with polycations was achieved by prior mixing of PTCA with poly(sodium 4-styrene sulfonate) (PSS). This method improved the stability of the PTCA in the alternate films which also led to a photoluminescence enhancement compared with the spin-cast film. A green light electroluminescence device containing PTCA multilayer films was fabricated with a turn-on voltage of about 4.5 V.
