Abstract :
The phosphonic analogue of L-phenylalanine, 2-aminoindan-2-phosphonic acid (AIP) decreased the growth of seedlings and the mitotic activity of root tip cells of bean (Vicia faba L. ssp. minor var. Dino) in a dose-dependent manner. AIP at a concentration of 100 μM induced micronuclei and chromosomal aberrations in Vicia root tip meristems.
