Abstract :
The role of quantum wells in exchange coupling between magnetic layers is discussed. Applications of the Greenʹs function torque method of determining exchange coupling, which involves the calculation of the spin current flowing between the layers, are summarized. New results are reported on the effect of interface roughness.
