Abstract :
Extensive studies on the colossal magnetoresistive (CMR) manganites have revealed important interplay of charge, spin, orbital, and lattice degrees of freedom not only in CMR characteristics but also in anomalous charge and spin dynamics. Here, we overview our latest experimental investigations of the CMR manganites in light of the important role of the orbital degree of freedom.
