Abstract
The excitation-, reflection- and emission-spectra of Eu2+ activated halophosphates (Ca, Sr)5(PO4)3Cl and (Ca, Sr, Ba)5(PO4)3Cl are measured by using the synchrotron radiation in the energy range up to vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) region. The absorption spectra are also calculated according to the Kramers–Kronig relation. A model describing the excitation and emission processes of Eu2+ in halophosphates is suggested.
