Abstract :
In the present study, the temperature-dependent impedance spectroscopic analysis of a new superionic system 30(Cu1−xAgxI)–35(Ag2O)–35(MoO3), where x=0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20 and 0.25, respectively has been reported. Impedance and modulus analyses have indicated the temperature independent distribution of relaxation times and the non-Debye behavior of these materials. Further, the ionic transport number (ti) values determined using Wagnerʹs polarization method are found to be greater than 0.96 for all these samples. The powder X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetric studies carried out on these materials have clearly indicated the formation of new composite materials consisting of glassy phases as well as some crystalline phases with disordered structure. The thermoelectric power measurements have confirmed the positively charged mobile ions in these compositions.
