Abstract :
A new class of disilyl-substituted poly(phenylenevinylene)-related copolymers (CN-Si-Carb-PPV, CN-Si-Ph-PPV) was synthesized by a simple condensation polymerization route. The UV–vis absorption of the polymers has strong absorption bands, which corresponds to the π–π* transition of π-conjugated segment. Photoluminescence (PL) spectra show that the emission peaks of two polymer films both have about 100 nm bathochromic shifts compared to the polymer solution. Single-layer light-emitting diodes (LED) were fabricated, which showed lower threshold voltage. The devices both emitted green light.
