Abstract :
The present study reports textural changes that occur during final cold rolling stage of a thermomechanically processed Ti3Al base alloy as a function of rolling reduction. Textural changes have been examined for 15 and 30% cold rolling reductions. The cold rolling deformation ∼30% of a prior thermomechanically processed Ti–24Al–11Nb alloy, with initial R-type basal texture, does not change its basic character. The main texture components are found to be of (011̄7][uvtw] type. No twinning is observed up to 30% rolling deformation.
