Abstract
Using different theoretical relationships between biaxial nominal stresses and porosity for three-dimensional reticulated foamed metals, the tensile behavior has been analyzed for these materials under biaxial equal-stress tension, and the loading strength has been experimentally investigated for metal foams in this case. The results indicate that the relative mechanical relationships both from the “cubic model” and from the “octahedron model” can characterize the metal foams under biaxial equal-stress tension in a quite good coincidence with the experimental data.
