New form of iron orthovanadate FeVO4·1.5H2O prepared at normal pressure and low temperature

A new form of iron(III) orthovanadate(V) FeVO4·1.5H2O was prepared at low temperature from mixing a boiling solution of iron nitrate with boiling solution of vanadium oxide (obtained by reacting V2O5 with few mL of 30 vol.% H2O2 following by a dilution with distilled water). The mixture was maintained under stirring for several days at 85 °C in order the product reaches crystallinity. When iron nitrate solution was not heated and added to boiling vanadium oxide solution, it leads to FeVO4·1.1H2O phase similar to the fervanite mineral.
