Abstract
This work describes recent advances on the understanding of elevated temperature plasticity within five-power-law creep. Particular attention is devoted to recent developments regarding dislocation network hardening, internal back-stresses and Harper–Dorn creep. This will include discussions of recent convergent beam electron diffraction experiments on metals to evaluate internal stresses in association with dislocation heterogeneities and Taylor hardening analyses in both copper and aluminum.
