Abstract :
In order to understand and improve the half-metallic nature of ordered double perovskite oxides A2FeMoO6 (A = Ca, Sr, Ba), synthesis and characterizations of (Sr1−xBax)2FeMoO6 and (Sr1−yCay)2FeMoO6 have been systematically performed. In addition to a conventional solid-state synthesis, an EDTA-based sol–gel technique was applied to prepare a series of the single phase A2FeMoO6. Magnetic properties (the saturation magnetization and the Curie temperature) with respect to the A-site substitution were summarized as a function of the lattice volume, and the results were discussed in terms of the chemical pressure effects.
