Abstract :
Zn–Ni alloys obtained by electrodeposition display a high protective capacity against corrosion and low hydrogen brittleness. The presence of Zn in Zn–Ni alloys provides cathodic protection of iron-based substrates while Ni increase the deposits corrosion resistance. ety of additives are usually added to bath depositions to improve the efficiency of the deposition and the characteristics of the deposit. A Zn–Ni electrodeposited alloy was evaluated considering a duct-shape electrochemical cell with controlled electrolyte flow and the presence of gelatin as an additive was considered. The Ni content depends on gelatin concentration and if the flux is a laminar or turbulent one. Increased amount of gelatin and flow rate reduced the grain size of deposit.
