Abstract
Rapid growing genres of the modern composite materials are almost always associated with a new combination of exotic materials. The present overview centers on the basic question, how to control chemical interaction between dissimilar solid ingredient species to elucidate the significance of materials combination and optimization of preparation condition. Particular emphasis is laid on the role of externally applied mechanical stresses. Case studies based on some recent experimental studies carried out in the authorʹs laboratory encompass from bioaffinitive materials, pharmaceutical formulation to ceramic precursors.
