Abstract :
Soft magnetic properties in bulk nanocrystalline Fe–Cu–Nb–Si–B alloys consolidated by shock-wave sintering have been studied. The lowest coercive field Hc of 7.1 A m−1 was achieved for the bulk sample prepared by nanocrystallizing bulk amorphous alloys, which was consolidated from amorphous Fe–Cu–Nb–Si–B alloy ribbons. This value is about one-sixth of Hc for the samples prepared by nanocrystallizing bulk amorphous alloys consolidated from amorphous Fe–Cu–Cr–Nb–Si–B alloy powder. The nanocrystallization of the bulk alloys consolidated from the amorphous ribbons by shock-wave sintering provides bulk nanocrystalline alloys with good soft magnetic properties.
