Abstract
This work is dedicated to the analysis of basic factors affecting stability of field emission current. The main problem in creation of stable field emission cathodes is the problem of materials. One of the most promising material classes for this goal is polyacrilonitril carbon fibers’ group. The main features of carbon fibers’ field emission, including current fluctuations are presented. Field emission of carbon materials is an extremely broad research area. This paper represents a short survey of our works dedicated to the development of stable field emission cathodes based on polyacrilonitril carbon fibers.
