  • Abstract
    The usage of nuclear emulsion with molybdenum powder filling ( ∼ 5 % by weight of dry emulsion) for observation of β β decay is shown to be possible. Estimates for 1 kg of 100Mo with zero background give the sensitivity for the 0 ν β β decay of 100Mo at the level of ∼ 1.5 × 10 24 yr for 1 yr of measurement. Promising elements for the double beta decay search, besides molybdenum (100Mo), are also 82Se, 150Nd, 96Zr, 130Te, 116Cd, and 48Ca.
