Abstract :
A low cost Cf/C–TiC composite was prepared by chemical vapour infiltration combined with reactive melt infiltration. The composite with no residual titanium presents high mechanical properties displaying a non-catastrophic failure behavior. Furthermore, the toughed mechanism of the composite is proposed.
