Improved method for detecting the effect of gluinos in four-jet events at LEP

The usual method of searching for the effect of gluinos in four-jet events from hadronic decays of the Z0 at LEP uses a comparison between theoretical and experimental angular correlations of the four jets. The sensitivity of this method can be substantially improved by extending it to include a comparison of jet-masses, assuming the masses of the jets containing the new particles are larger than those of ordinary quarks.
