Effect of lead screen upon scintillation counters for detecting cosmic rays

The effect of lead screen on scintillators was investigated experimentally with the Zhengzhou EAS Array. The particle numbers recorded by shielded scintillators were varying with the thickness of the screen, and the best angular resolution of the array did not correspond to the smallest particle number recorded by the shielded detectors.
