A stretched wire system for accurate integrated magnetic field measurements in insertion devices

A simple and precise system for the measurement of both first and second magnetic field integral distributions and integrated multipole errors in insertion devices has been developed. The method, the characteristics and the performance of the system are presented. A comparison is also made with the more traditional Hall plate and flipping coil techniques.
