Abstract :
At PSI a proton beam with 84 MeV kinetic energy is used in order to investigate the uniformity of light collection and the light yield with avalanche photodiode (APD) and photomultiplier (PMT) readout. New types of Hamamatsu APDs have been coupled to PbWO4 scintillators. The obtained results are compared with the PMT response. This contribution is part of the CMS ECAL group research.
