Abstract :
A simple position sensitive scintillator strip detector used in the forward detectors in the ZEUS experiment is described. Performance of its readout electronics utilizing large area 300 μm PIN photodiodes is presented. Good spatial resolution of 3 mm and satisfactory noise conditions have been achieved at event rates above 1 MHz.
